Manichaeism is the predominant lens through which the World is represented and this remains the overarching media architecture. The sine qua non of representing The World this way is that ''We'' are the light and the ''Other'' is the Darkness. Binary Thinking works in a Unipolar World where the Adversary is a Paper Tiger because Might is Right and You have a lot more Might. When the Adversary is a Nuclear Power with WMDs, the situation is not binary, its multi sided and non linear. 

Surkov published a short story, ‘Without Sky’ set in the future, after the ‘fifth world war’ and in it he explains complexity

I would argue that Manichaeism has created a Mass psychogenic illness (MPI), also called mass sociogenic illness, mass psychogenic disorder, epidemic hysteria, or mass hysteria, involves the spread of illness symptoms through a population where there is no infectious agent responsible for contagion
